meeting of the minds

Last night's weavers' meeting was great. Sat with good friends. Enjoyed myself. No responsibilities. Only signed up to take cookies to the sale in November.
Wonderful slide show followed by a powerpoint show with music of the Master's thesis work by Jennifer Moore, who is indeed a master of doubleweave. She has a great online site with photos of her work. I tried to put a link in my post yesterday, but it wouldn't upload.
Doubleweave is one of my all time favorite techniques. I've even tried the pickup which she does in all of her work. It's tedious work, but her results are incredible. The workshop is beginning this morning and I wish I had the vacation time. Of course, no looms are available so there are no last minute signups for this one. A good friend borrowed some 5/2 yarn for the workshop, so I will get a sample back from her. But it won't be the same as spending three solid long days at the loom learning from a master weaver.
