choices
There are always too many good choices on any given day. I could read email, sew a little, paint a little, measure off a few more warps on the board.... But tonight is Halloween and the preview night at the quilt show.
Sigh. I guess I'll be going as a black-eyed pea to the Halloween party. I need to hear a dragon roar and see a pretty little Hello Kitty.
Saturday and Sunday I will see the quilt show.

home from the sea

| Cozumel |
We're home from our cruise to Cozumel and Progresso. Click on the photo above to see the photo album. These are about a fifth of the photos I took and, of course, there are the photos we bought from Carnival and from the excursion operators. The trip is well documented. We had a great time. We'll maybe do this again sometime.

one of a kind

The Frog Girl was a gift from a friend. She is one of a kind. Yes, the friend as well as the Frog Girl. Clarice was going to make panels for each of us one year as an Art Camp challenge but after finishing two, she realized it was a monumental task she had set for herself. So glad she began with me.

countdown
Me and the rabbit are late, we're late for a very important date, no time to wait, we're late, we're late, we're late.
I am dawdling. Doing laundry, thinking about making a list so I can check it twice. No time for that. Mending things, buying locks, almost bought a new suitcase, is that nuts? Yes, it was. I'll just carry three smaller ones. Packed my beading project - seeing stars now. Should I take bottled water? Am I that cheap? Watercolor paper, brushes, crayons, glue. Do I have time to do a journal quilt? Maybe. An extra camera battery and another 2gig of storage? If I spend enough money and carry enough stuff along, will I have a good time?
Can I just buy the postcards and skip the whole thing?

skipping over Monday
If you just pretend that Monday doesn't arrive immediately afterward, then it was a very nice weekend. My daughter stayed the night on Saturday and we went to a weaver's meeting on Sunday. We shopped for stuff we really needed and what do you know, there they were the four chartreuse napkins I've been "needing" for years and on sale for ten cents each. I woulda bought a dozen but there were only four.
Then we stayed up late and she stitched on a shibori project while I cleaned up the floor of my workspace and put a binding on the quilt journal for May. I woke up Sunday morning feeling pukey but decided it wasn't a big deal and we went on to the meeting after putting the stitched scarf into soda ash to soak. We had a great time with the weavers and I put some beads on the journal quilt while she did a dynamite sunprint on a large piece of fabric which she will probably use in a pieced kimono style jacket. I hope she posted a photo of it. I kind of ran out of energy toward the end of the afternoon and when I dropped her off, the kids were wild and crazy. The grandson wanted to get picked up and get down and get picked up and get down. I bet he still has a tummy ache.
Monday I stayed in bed. Wish I was there still.
